<< B A C K SMS 4th Graders Family Tree Project Mrs. McCann's 4th grade Social Studies classes are learning this year that New Jersey is a state of immigrants, just as America is a nation of immigrants. Each student started with the person they know best - themself! From there, they got help from their parents and grandparents in building a record of their forebears noting their names, dates of birth (sometimes), and places of birth. In the accompanying map, we note all the places uncovered by the research that SMS 4th graders can claim as a "second home." It quite a diverse and interesting class. (HINT: Click on the blue markers and ZOOM -- then switch to the satellite view!) Thanks to all the parents who answered their children's questions for the project.
