I'd like to express my congratulations to the winners of the 2010 St. Michael's School Geography Bee, which was sponsored by the National Geographic Society. The first place prize went to Michael Malouf with Michelle DeMartino and Peter Coates taking second and third place, respectively. They are truly "world experts." Michael will be moving on to the next round of this national contest.
Of course, honors are due to all the participants in the Bee. Each student qualified by taking a preliminary test that identified him or her as a worthy contestant. Thanks to Mrs. Fasolino, our 6th, 7th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher, for taking charge of the contest and to 4th and 5th grade Social Studies teacher, Mrs. McCann, for emceeing. No doubt, their skills contributed to the the participants' expertise
