Where: St. Michael's School, 100 Alden St, Cranford, NJ 07016
Date: December 20, 2009
Time: 1:00pm–4:00pm
The Cranford Knights of Columbus invite all boys and girls ages 10 to 14 to participate in the local level of competition for the Knights of Columbus International Free Throw Championship. The first round competition will be held on December 20 between 1PM and 4PM at the St. Michael’s School gymnasium located at 100 Alden Street in Cranford. All boys and girls will compete in their respective age and gender divisions and will be recognized for their participation. Contestants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent. You can register at the event.
Winners at the local level move on to the district competition and, if successful there, gain berths in the State finals. International champions are decided based on scores reported from the State-level competitions. Since its beginning in 1972, over 2.5 million youths have participated in the contest.
With more than 1.7 million members, the Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic lay organization. The Cranford Council, just one of over 11,000 councils worldwide, is a pillar of the Cranford volunteer community who help out at innumerable Church and town events.
