April 30, 2008
Dear Parents,
We are well into our last trimester and bustling with activities. There are many class trips scheduled this month. Most of the buses will be leaving school very early so please be on time. On these days, especially, do not park in front of the building.
Congratulations to our second-graders who received First Holy Communion on April 12th. Mrs. McGlynn worked throughout the year with her students to prepare them for this sacrament.
We will celebrate Ascension Thursday Mass at 8:30 A.M. on May 1st. Our annual May Crowning will take place at 8:30 A.M. on May 16th. The 2nd and 8th graders will bring flowers to the Blessed Mother and an eighth grade girl has been chosen to crown Mary. The 8th graders have selected Victoria Lago. These young gentlemen and ladies described her as kind, caring, friendly, energetic, cheerful and always doing the right thing. Our 8th grade girls are all lovely. This was a difficult yet very wise decision. I would like to note that Victoria’s sister, Jessica, was the crowner four years ago. How proud Mr. & Mrs. Lago must be!
The HSA is sponsoring a Plant Sale. Please do your best to support the HSA and fulfill your fundraising commitment, which is due mid-May. The chairladies of the Rafael’s Life House Auction would like to thank all who joined us through donations and participation. It was a huge success!
This year our students in grades 6 to 8 will take Final Exams. They will take place during the last week of May. These exams should be taken very seriously as they equal 1/3 of the third Trimester grade.
Please come out to enjoy our talented students at our production of “Alice in Wonderland”. I look forward to seeing you at all of our events.
Happy Spring!
